Consent, takedowns and privacy
People in the data
Physical AI data often shows people: line workers, teleoperators, the person wearing a head camera, and bystanders. Any listing where people appear cannot be published until the seller attests, item by item, that every worker or operator in frame signed a recording and licensing consent, that bystanders consented or are blurred, and uploads the consent records.
Consent has to be separate from employment. Saying no to being recorded for a dataset must not affect anyone's job, shifts or pay. We ask sellers to confirm this specifically, because a signature on a hiring form is not consent to license someone's image.
Consent records are stored privately with the listing and are never shown to buyers. The listing shows only that they are on file.
Our own capture
When Soul Verified records on a factory floor itself, every operator receives a written notice in their own language and signs consent before recording, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Recording and licensing are agreed separately from audio and from sample clips, and nothing is pre-ticked.
Operators are paid for every accepted capture hour, on top of their wages. Withdrawal is as easy as consent: tell the site coordinator or contact us, and recording stops that day. Footage not yet licensed is deleted within 30 days, and buyers are asked to delete what they still can.
Names and employee IDs never travel with footage. Faces, name badges, customer logos, part numbers, drawings and screens are blurred before release, and a customer whose parts appear on camera signs off first or is not recorded.
Faces
Validation screens sample frames of every upload for faces with an open-source detector. Likely faces are flagged to the seller, who must either attest consent or blur them before publishing. Prep can blur faces during export. The screen is a check, not a guarantee; the seller remains responsible for what they upload.
What is never allowed
Covert recording. Footage of minors. Health, financial or other sensitive personal records. Data the seller does not own or have written permission to license. Data captured at a site without the site's written permission.
Takedowns
Anyone can report a listing from its page, signed in or not. Reports go to our team, who can take a listing down at once while they look. Sellers are told why. If you appear in a dataset and did not consent, report it and we will remove the listing while we investigate, and the seller must show the consent record to restore it.
A takedown stops new sales. Licences already granted stay recorded on their certificates; where a takedown is for missing consent, we contact buyers and the seller about deleting affected copies.
Your account data
We keep what we need to run the marketplace: your name, email, organisation, orders and licences. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see card numbers. We do not sell personal data. Email us to export or delete your account.
