What a licence lets you do
Research licence
Use for non-commercial research and teaching. Publish results with attribution. No use in a product or service, no resale, no redistribution of the raw data.
Commercial licence
Use to train and evaluate models that ship in commercial products. Non-exclusive: the seller may license the same data to others. No resale or redistribution of the raw data.
Exclusive licence
Everything in Commercial, and the seller stops licensing this dataset to anyone else from the date of purchase. Existing licences stay valid. The listing is closed.
Evaluation licence
Use as held-out test data to measure models. Do not train, fine-tune or tune hyperparameters on it. No resale or redistribution.
Slices (stems)
If you license part of a dataset (some streams, tasks, embodiments or dates), the licence covers only that part, and that is all we deliver.
Feeds
A feed subscription licenses each drop delivered while the subscription is active, on the commercial terms of the listing, unless the listing says otherwise. Drops delivered before you cancel stay licensed.
Everyone
No re-identification of people in the data. No use to surveil individuals. Keep the data secure and delete it if a takedown for missing consent applies to it. Credit the seller where you publish results, unless the seller waives it.
Certificates
Every purchase produces a certificate: the licensee, the licensor, the dataset, the tier, the scope, the date and a hash of the exact terms. It is the record of what you may do.
Note
These terms are a working draft for the marketplace beta and will be replaced by terms reviewed by counsel before general availability.
